"We must remain vigilant on our journey towards progress."

So said Dr. Bob Ross, president and CEO of the California Endowment, as he announced a $1 million donation to the Inland Empire Community Foundation's Black Equity Fund to help close racial equity gaps in education, health, employment, and housing in California's Inland Empire.

"I'm thrilled to witness the outpouring of support and enthusiasm for the IE Black Equity Fund," says Pastor Sam Casey, co-founder of the Black Equity Initiative of the Inland Empire.

The IE Black Equity Fund was created by the Black Equity Initiative of the Inland Empire, a coalition of nonprofit leaders "whose work is focused on ending systemic racism and building political and economic power for the Black community," per a press release.

Since its inception in 1941, the fund has awarded $1.7 million to 71 organizations and fiscally-sponsored projects, per Black PR Wire.
